Let's be honest- virtually no one comes to the front door anymore without previously being invited via text/email/phone call. If this is the case, why greet them with an unceremonious dime sized button to push?
Having guests over for any reason that would force them to use the front door implies the beginning of a celebration! Maybe it's just me, but that little button is pretty anticlimactic in comparison to a bright, bold knocker against an equally bold background to bejewel the ceremonial entrance to your home!
Perhaps I just have a flair for the dramatic, but you can bet that if you don't hear me knocking on the door, I'll just text you...
