Eat + Drink: Winter Salads

Who says that salad season has to end once the snow starts to fall? Frankly, this is the time of year when everyone (including me) could use a few salads to negate the sweet treats, bubbly drinks and indulgent dinner party fare.

So if you are also trying to keep the bulge at bay, keep these winter salads in your wheelhouse. On the contrary, if you are planning on becoming a holiday heavyweight and you have decided that this is your time to stuff as many tasty treats in your mouth as quickly as possible (I'm not embarrassed to admit that I've been there too), then save these recipes for the first chilly winter months of 2013!

Entertaining: Holiday Tablescapes, sort of.

If we've met and had even one meal together (aside from lunch in the office break room) then you know about my deep, profound love for a thoughtfully designed tablescape. This might sound silly or frivolous to most, but my grandmother taught me that the devil is in the details and there are few other places where this is so perfectly showcased. 

I really meant for this post to be red and green and glittery for the holidays, but I couldn't resist keeping the pictures below for a future blog! Passion or Obsession? Who cares!

Eat + Drink: Detox Sunday

Most of my Sundays are spent recovering from the previous Friday and Saturday, and today is no different. Too many bubbles, too much whiskey and too few glasses of water calls for a lazy day of detoxing and planning for a healthier week. I hadn't stumbled over to goop in a while and little did I know, I would find dinner inspiration for the week! Not only is it a site that makes it easy to eat with your eyes, the recipes are healthy and a little bit fancy. I love fancy.
